Subtext is all about what’s unsaid. These are the thoughts and emotions of the scene, and on a larger scale the heart of the story.
In a greater context, subtext represents unheard voices. The topics, feelings, and stories all around us, that are waiting to be told.

Our Story
Subtext Studios was founded in 2023 by filmmakers, London Vidaurri and Chase Pickford. The collaborators turned to fast friends after competing in multiple 24-hr film festivals together.
As female film students, they noticed the same stories being told over and over. Action packed thrillers starring nuanced men. Hard-hitting dramas on male vulnerability. Comedies celebrating the camaraderie of friendship and aging. These were all fantastic pieces, but where were the empowering women? Where were our stories?
They set out to voice their experiences as women, celebrate the human experience, and help others left out of the narrative do the same.
Since then, they’ve expanded Subtext Studios into all media genres including documentary, narrative, and commercial.
Whether it’s working with small businesses, brands they believe in, or start-up indie filmmakers, Subtext Studios offers it’s services to all.
